    Guys, there are still so many posts going around about codes, clone safe firmware, blah, blah, blah.

    The real, confirmed clone safe firmware has been released. It is also available from the link at the end of the post since last night. It is in the Starview / Firmware folder, and the name is CryptStar-v1.4-Core257.bin

    As scouser already said, BIG thanks to SunRise for this, and make the most of it.

    Please update your firmware, or have it done for you by someone you know.

    Same procedure as flashing an original starview ... the only difference is the file you flash to it.

    1. Plug Starview in at the mains.
    2. Plug in null modem cable and join up box with PC using COM port on PC (there is only one socket for this on the Starview you cant go wrong);
    3. Open up GTRom loader
    4. Click on "BIN File" on GTRom and load the Auto update BIN file that you have saved earlier
    5. Now click download button and you will see the file being downloaded.
    6. Once complete a message will appear saying something like "download successful".
    7. Ideally you should try and get a bin file channel list for your area and load this as well it will save a lot of time.
    8. Alternatively, plug box in and press Menu on remote, installation, choose your cable provider, then move down to automatic scan and press ok.
    9. Once all channels have been found press exit back to TV screen.
    10. Now press menu, parental control, press ok. Then press i then 2004. Move down to Key Emu and change option to on. Press ok , then exit back to TV Screen.
    11. If entering the code of 2004 does not work, substitute with the code of 1570.
