really BIG ps1 question

    ok , i have a new computer and all with a 16 x dvd burner, just one drive. and it takes like ages, i mean like 2 hours just to read a damn playstation disc that is scantly 600mb!what is wrong with my fu{ken computer!
    it is really slow and i dont know what the problem is since im quite limited in computers.
    all i can think of is it has trouble reading discs. by the way, its a dell pc with dell burner if u need to know.

    Well, that's the problem. It's a Dell! :D

    Seriously, make sure you've got DMA enabled on your HD. It's under Settings -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware Devices. (I think. I'm at work and they've disabled this on our computers.)

    Are you sure you have a 16x DVD burner. The fastest ones out right now are only 8x (for DVD+R). You probably mean a 16x DVD-ROM.

    give me the specs on ur pc... speed,ram,hd space total and available...
