Does it have an error code or error screen?

Ok, I get an error 07 service required call customer support.

I knew that the hdd was dead. I have another drive that i want to replace it with. I was wondering how to put the xbox software or partition on the new drive.

    Thanks

    You need the eeprom!

You'll now need an eeprom reader or a modchip!

It's a paperweight without the eeprom!

If you're worried about legality issues with the modchip, build or buy an eeprom reader!
