I have been successfully backing up my DVD collection for several years and successfully with this computer, overall, for the past 8 months or so. All of a sudden I have been getting many backups which will play fine for a while, then freeze or skip a lot. To ensure it is not the player I tried it on my computer player with the same result. Here is what I am using: TYG02 Taiyo Yuden media DVDFab HD Decrypter 4 DVD Shrink 3.2 ImgBurn 2.3.2.0 Vista Home Premium DS8AZH ATA Burner I tried a couple of different discs with similar results and in one case it would not even start to burn with ImgBurn. I also checked for new firmware for the device, but am up to date. Again, I have used the above successfully for some time, so unless I need to reinstall the above programs, I am at a loss. Any ideas?
There were some discussions on web that some TY are fake. Is your batch new? It sounds like a bad burn. Try to get Verbatim, one or two discs and see if that will fix the problem. If not, I would suspect the burner. Other thing, when you burn, is there other program running? If you can download Nero Speed, you can check your burn quality there.
