    Hi,
I just recently bought the PSP-3004. I'll give u all my details then ask about the problem ok. The console i got is:
    PSP-3004
    Firmwire: 4.21
    Date Code: 8D

Now i want to install custom firmwire like 5.00 or 5.02. I tried to run ChickenHen R2 but it is not working, the console got stick when i tried to run the file and then after few seconds (maybe 10 Sec) it goes off. Someone told me that if i continuously try it may work, so i tried more than 100 times but the problem is same. I like to play downloaded games so Please if any1 can help me and tell me by which process i can install custom firmwire.

Since it's a PSP-3004, you're not going to be able to have a true CFW on it, though you'll be able to get close. First of all, make sure you're running 5.03 OFW, or else ChickHEN R2 won't work. When you are on 5.03 HEN, install 5.50 GEN-A (I think that's what it's called).

What is the difference between OFW and CFW? And another question, will it be able to work on PSP 2006 with System Software version 5.03 ?

    Thanks.

Official Firmware (OFW) is the firmware provided by Sony that makes your PSP function as a whole. The firmware files reside in the Flash of a PSP. Custom Firmware (CFW) is firmware provided by many psp developers, that unlocks many PSP features that are not found in Official Firmware (most importantly the ability to run homebrew!). It will most likely work on your PSP, but just to be safe, what firmware did your PSP come with (if you remember)?

Able to run homebrew, means able to play ISO and CSO? Sorry but I'm really new to those things. How to check what firmware my PSP comes with?

    Thanks.

Yes, if you're running CFW, you can play ISOs and CSOs. If you haven't updated your PSP ONCE since you bought it then you can go to System Settings < System Information and the firmware will be there. If you've updated it and you don't remember what you updated it from then just go ahead and go here and follow the instructions to install 5.03 GEN-A (a type of custom firmware based off M33). Don't attempt to install 5.50 GEN-A, this will cause a brick.

My CFW is already 5.03. But i had a problem. The shop owner modified my PSP. But when i turned it off completely and on it again, it became un-modified. Means I can't find my games when they are still there. Any idea how to fix it? Mine is PSP 2006 with CFW 5.03.

    Thank you.

Go to System Settings < System Information. What does the Firmware Version read? I'm a little confused as to whether you were on CFW or just HEN...

Ok, you were on HEN, you'll have to re-enable it and run Recovery Flasher to install PSP (if PSPIdent says you have a hackable motherboard).
