I recently purchased pioneers vsx-815. It is capable of 7.1 After hooking all of it up and using the autocalibration method, all 7 speakers sound great. (didnt hook up sw yet.) Well when I go to play star wars-dolby digital ex I get no sound out of the back two. So after hanging up with pioneer from being on hold for 45 min I decide to tinker around. I was able to get the surround back left to function sounds awesome. but when you go to calibrate it manually the surround back right is not an option. Now in the begining the sbleft wasnt either and now it is. Can anyone give me some advice to get the sbright to show up and play. Its hooked up and sound comes from it proving its on but no audio. I was looking forward to this day all week too.
I'm not familiar with your AVR but most of them have on screen speaker selection; did you look to make sure sure they were all on and the sub off? Also, did you double check to make sure there are not stray wires from the speaker connections either on the speaker or the back of the AVR ... sometime they're so crowded and one strand of wire so small that it's easy to miss.
Thank you for responding. I actually just got it to work. I went in through the auto calibration again and it recognized the missing speaker that time. for the entire 24 hrs though all i got was nothing. everything works great and sounds great. Again, thanks for your reply.
