I tried out Nero 7, found it didn't work very well with my burners, so reverted back to 6.6.0.18. Unfortunately, Recode has stopped working. I get the following error message: "Failed to create the Nero Digital Video encoder filter." Below, I pasted the relevant error messages from the log. I have tried using the CleanTool to uninstall all Nero products, then do a clean reinstall, but it made no difference. Thanks in advance for any help. ------------------- 21:16:20 File burn_ndigital.cpp, Line 722 Nth-pass file = C:\DOCUME~1\Paul\LOCALS~1\Temp\\dvd_0 Title 1a02772.bin 21:16:20 File burn_ndigital.cpp, Line 1192 NeroDigital: building graph 21:16:20 File burn_ndigital.cpp, Line 1311 failed to create NeroDigital Video Encoder: 0x80004003 21:16:20 File burn_ndigital.cpp, Line 638 Failed to create the Nero Digital Video encoder filter. 21:16:20 File burn_ndigital.cpp, Line 639 NeroDigital: Compiling volume failed 21:16:20 File burn_ndigital.cpp, Line 200 NeroDigital: exit 21:16:20 File burner.cpp, Line 961 Failed to create the Nero Digital Video encoder filter.
This is the Nero Recode log that Recode saves after failing. Here is a successfully Nero Digital & Nero Recode burned of mine "MADAGASCAR", which I've just completed transcoding and imported into my Nano Ipod yesterday. I think your "resize and cropping" are the wrong size, that's all I can think of at this moment. Here's yours comparing to mine. Source: Size (720,480) Display Aspect Ratio (16,9) Deinterlace disabled Cropping enabled (0, 0, 2, 0) Resizing enabled (720,408) Pixel ratio (1,1) Bitrate: 1559566 bps
I'm pretty sure the reason why your resize/cropping is different is because you were encoding for your ipod. The ipod resolution is a lot smaller than a dvd. In my case, there is no reason to resize or crop anything.
I see... so there's a lil confusion here. If that is the case, then don't use Nero Digital, just use Nero Recode itself, it can do the job easily. Follow my guide here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/256436 I'm using Nero Recode 2 on how to "encode and transcode" dvd movies.
