I really like Recode, but........... why do burned copies ONLY play in a burner, or DVD player? If you try playing a copy in a DVD Rom drive, then the drive does not even read that a DVD is inserted. Is this a bug that Nero knows about? I have tried numerous versions of Recode and they all have this problem. Is there a fix?

hi, let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar. You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"

looks like you've been reading thru this forum, as everything's up to date in your setup :)

    - that's fine, only one version behind

    - up to date

    - nice MCC coded discs there

    - appears to have worked ok (at a reasonable burn speed)

hmmm, everything looks fine can you describe your problem more ?, are you saying these backups work in burner and standalone players, just not in your Sony dvd-rom drive ?

Yes. The backups will not play or even be read on any DVD Rom. It will not work on my Sony at home. I have tried different backups in various other DVD Rom drives at work, both desktops and laptops, nothing. Put the backup in any burner or standalone and they work perfectly. There are times I would like to play a backup in my laptop on a trip, but it does not work. The burn speed (around 20 minutes), and the picture quality is exceptional; the only glitch is failure to play on a regular DVD Rom drive. This problem appears to be unique to Recode.

that's odd, maybe try using just Nero Burning Rom (i don't use Recode, that's all, dunno yet why you're having this odd problem)
