Anyone else having problems with Recode not reading movies lately? I have had two movies, Chicken Little, and An Unforgiven Life error out when Recode tries to read them. Luckily CloneDVD2 has worked on both of them. I have the latest Nero installed, as well as AnyDVD, and even tried uninstalling Nero and going back to an older version, same problem. Not a major problem since I can back them up using CloneDVD2, but I really have an issue with popcorn eating sheep.

While transcoding, you can click the sheep to see bitrate statistics instead.
While burning, you can replace the sheep with any .gif animation you like. :)

Try ripping movie to your HD w/ the ripper AnyDVD has now.

Then you can use Recode to burn onto disc.......

Movies with Ripguard or ARccOS can give Recode a problem even with the latest AnyDVD running. Both of these movies have Ripguard on them.
I have AnyDVD set to show the info so I see what protection it has on it. When I see one of these I just use CloneDVD.
Tried again w/ the latest version of AnyDVD & Hostel (ARccOS) and Recode just hung. CloneDVD did the job though.

CloneDVD 2 always does the job. Especially when Nero Recode just hangs up. Using AnyDVD & CloneDVD 2 there won't be any "issues".

Clone will get beyond those few frames of blackness that Shrink/Recode have trouble with. If you use the start and end frames to advance to just where the logo or movie begins, that works. This is for movie only though and the file is already ripped to HDD.

Well; I guess that is why we all have more than one backup program!
I appreciate all the great input. Thanks
