    Sorry, I don't mean to hijack this thread but was wondering the same thing. Now that I have AnyDVD I use Recode pretty much exclusively.
    I have latest updates to Nero Ultra 6. Does this work like Shrink in the sense that when there is no compression (main movie only and such) it automatically turns off? Thanks in advance.

    CAUTION---
    If you've never used the Registry -- may I suggest you back it up BEFORE you do anything in it.

    You can EXPORT it to your desktop after you've ticked the [] All box at the lower left corner. -- Should you mess up -- you can import that to restore your PC.

    Ok in version 6 of Nero -- you can adjust Recode -

    Here's how :- Go into your Registry and change the key as follows.

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ahead\Nero Recode\Preferences]
    "DeepAnalysis"=dword:00000001
    "CompressMode"=dword:00000002

    change it to:

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ahead\Nero Recode\Preferences]
    "DeepAnalysis"=dword:00000001
    "CompressMode"=dword:00000003

    Your welcome. Be careful though Jeanc1 is correct, messing with the registry can be bad. Backup and be careful what you delete or change.

    I have never changed my AEC on nero recode, I like the setting just the way it is. Looks very comparable to original.

    I never like touching those regestry values but I modified binary data in [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ahead\Nero Recode\Preferences]

    from
    "DeepAnalysis"=dword:0x00000000
    "CompressMode"=dword:0x00000002
    to
    "DeepAnalysis"=dword:0x00000001
    "CompressMode"=dword:0x00000003
    rebooted my pc and will try a burn off my hard drive soon.
    Thank you.

    @ Deadrum33

    From what you posted -- I see you changed the Deep Analysis criteria -- Is that what you wanted to do ?

    @ elizerroj
    Your insinuation is not appreciated ! First thing one has to do in here -- is help himself.

    I dont know how old you are -- but dont expect people to do everything for you. Get your keyboard busy and do some searching on the word REGISTRY... and find out what it is and how it is used. Took 5 seconds to google the word Registry and -- here's what you get :-

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/256986/en-us

    Then if you have questions , ask in here politely.

    Dont forget that people answering you in here are volunteers that devote a bit of time to help out --we can't all afford to start a ""chat"" on each thread ! You should have read the rules first-- and provided a complete description of your problem in the very first post.-- that means I should not have to ask you twice what version of Nero you were talking about !

    Have a great day -- no offense taken.

    @Jeanc1-
    Following your instructions here, I seen that Deep analysis and compress were 2 different registry keys and analysis wasnt what you had listed. So I assumed changing that value would help also. Haven't tried the changes yet, all my movies are already stored as Shrank so nothing to recode yet. I will keep posted and thanks for the help.

    @Deadrum33

    Changing the Deep Analysis bit to 1 will require more time for you to Recode. -- Change it back if you do not want that.

    Have a great day ! I have to run to make supper for my hubby !
