Free or not... I don't really care. I have nothing on this iMac, so I'm willing to spend a little.

What's your favourite program, what's it do, and why is it?

    Thanks!(?)

I'll just go through the bottom of my dock :)

NeoOffice is a pretty good office app (word, spreadsheet, etc) - FREE

iWork 06 is excellent. It has a PowerPoint killer and a pretty good DTP/word processor - Less than $100 legit

Cyberduck is a great FTP program - FREE

Adium is the best IM program, does Google, MSN, AIM, etc. - FREE

Nvu is a decent WYSIWYG HTML editor - FREE

Inspiration is a really great mind mapping / visual organization program, I think it's like $70

VLC is the best media player - FREE

The GIMP (X11) is a great photo/graphic editor, like Photoshop - FREE

Toast Titanium is the best burning / backup program - I have no idea what it costs ;)

QuickTime Pro and Perian are essential for video transcoding and basic editing - QT pro is $30 and Perian is free
