I think baabaa (or Oriphus) will probably give me more info on this (I'm pretty sure they know A LOT about this, since i went to that AWESOME website http://www.chrismccann.co.uk/index.htm) but this question is for basically anybody that knows. Is Record Now MAX the same thing as Record Now DX? I have Record Now DX (which came with my Sony Comp) and it basically seems the same as Record MAX. I saw a few (not really a lot, i think just like 1 or 2) diff. when i saw the screenshots of Record Now MAX and compared them to my Record Now DX. Does anybody know what the basic diff of these two are? They do the same thing right? By the way i have Record Now DX vs. 4.11 . Thanks.
DX is deluxe. It tends to be a variation on the record now max. Is it made by Stomp or Veritas? I dont think you can even buy record now max 4.50 now, i think only deluxe is available. Thanks for the comments on the website, much appreciated. Could you email me if you fin any links down or if it opens a page in a new window, its not supposed to do that. Also, next time you log on, make sure to refresh it, cuz i ve changed it a lot. Chris
Cheers for the grats..... To my knowledge DX was the bundled version that was initially supplied with a dvd burner - similar to the original Nero. As with bundled software there usually are differences but I do know what they are (mostly drive support etc)... You can get the deluxe or platinum - the platinum contains everything that deluxe has and more - (dearer as aswell). http://www.orlogix.com gives some nice explanations on the main differences..... Veritas/stomp are actually under the Sonic banner now so http://www.sonic.com may also have some info there..... I don't think you can upgrade from DX though (not sure, will have to check) Check out - http://www.orlogix.com/support_upgrade.php?pn=rndx You can check hear to see if you can upgrade from your present version..... Hope this helps......Baaaa!
hey thanks for your help, by the way (in answering Oriphus) i have Record Now made by Veritas... Thanks again for creating that awesome site. I have now made 2 DVD's (i'm watching one right now, Shallow Hal). By the way I'm having some TROUBLE. The first DVD i made (Ice Age) kinda skips, it sorta PAUSES, and then it kinda SKIPS a few secs(about 4sec). If I rewind it, I can see the skipped seconds. Is this normal??? Also I saw that the movie skips more towards the end. Overall, there was probably like 5 pauses(pauses then skips a few secs). There was probably like 2 towards the middle, and 3 towards the end. Does anybody know why this is happening??
Possibly a media issue - what brand r u using? The recommended media r the ritek G03/G04 type with dark purple dye - however others use datawrite to good effect....
By any chance are you using Princo media, as princo does this on some of the older loader DVD Players. Also, the reason i asked about the Veritas/Stomp make, was simply because the Stomp version was causing a lot of problems on a friends computer. The veritas one changed that and it now works fine. Chris
ummm, .... i like really don't know what kind of stuff y'all are asking me, (what kind of media, some stuff about Princo). I'm like a beginner at all this DVD recording. The DVD's i used were Memorex DVD-R, they're purple on the bottom, ummm, i guess they're the normal kind, i really don't know. Also, the pausing/skipping thing occurs on all the DVD's i have done so far. Could it be that the orginal DVD's had some scratches?
The pausing / skipping could be that, or the way it was recorded, or a number of things. Download DVDSpeed from http://www.cdspeed2000.com and test the disc transfer on it. Also download CDSpeed from the same lpace and do a surface test in the extras menu. Chris
