I have a movie file(avi format)and I need to record on DVD disc so that I would be able to view it on DVD player. What kind of programs do I need? And how can I use those programs? Could you show me the steps of the process?

Another question: I have some movie files (MPEG4) sent from my friend who lives in Israel. My friend said that I need to convert them(files) PAL to NTSC. Do movie files come in PAL or NTSC formats and if yes how can I convert them? What programs do I need to use? Could you show me the steps of the process?

    hi davidto 520,
you know with a little bit of searching you could easily find your answer, but well since you havent heres the answer to your 1st part

Try the link below, it will allow you to download a free version of divx to dvd. This program will allow you to convert your avi file to that of an mpeg2 format.

    http://www.filepedia.com/video_software/dvd-r_tools/vso_divxtodvd_free.cfm

Once you have an mpeg2 format, this program will generally give you a video_ts/audio_ts folders you can use nero or imgburn to get your project to disc.

No one is going to spoon feed some one on this site, experimentation is the key and if you have a problem then post back and i'm sure some one will assist you
Have fun and see how you go
