Hi, I currently have the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1600 ATSC/ClearQAM/NTSC TV Tuner and I have my wii connected to it through analog. I use dScaler to play my wii in a nice resolution. I tried recording with this software and it didn't work too well, it was very laggy. I then turned to vDub and also tried and there were a lot of lag problems also. I may note that it doesn't lag at ALL when simply just playing, but there is lag when recording. Does anyone have a solution or another program that would work best for me?

I think you are using the wrong software and tuner card, I have the hauppagauge pvr-150 (similar to your hvr1600) and these cards always have a slight .5 lag, while it buffers the video. They do this for the "instant replay" function, the cheaper tuner cards (msi tvanywhere/ avertv models)don't do this, they play the video in real-time. Changing channels on the cheaper cards is instantaneous.

You can try christv lite and see if that will work on your tuner card, it has many settings you can adjust.

But even with that .5 lag, it should still give you a good recording as long as your recording to mpeg2. The hvr1600 has built-in mpeg hardware encoders, so it won't be dropping any frames or give you audio sync problems.
