    Hi All,

Just wanted to know what issues if any there are with recording more than 4.7GB of data onto a DVD-r ie ^.3 GB etc.

I've read somwhere that a certain spindle brand of dvd is ok if u record up2 2 hours and don't go 'beyond the edge'. What are the issue here? I have a Panasonic DVD recorder that can record in Extended mode etc and put upto 6 or 8 hours onto a dvd.

    Thanx for any responses.

I'm going out on a limb here and saying your hardware website or google should be able to provide this info.

It's misleading. 4.7GB is around 4.36GB of space, that's it. If you need more you'll need to look into double sided or even the dual layer media.
