I have a 160GB HD (which i took out of my sky + box) with external power plugged into my SV4 box. I can usually use the pause function and I can press record and record till i press stop, but if i select something from the epg to pre record it will come up with record init and then a black screen so I can't use it.Im on the newest firmware and based in UK,Cardiff. Any ideas on fixing this.
    Cheers

Did you try to format the HD in the SV? turn the box off, plug in the HD and delect format and see if that helps

go back to an earlier firmware file, 1.07 or 1.08 and see if that works also your 160 gb hard drive may be to big for the SV, you may need to format to FAT32 and partition the drive, use swissknife to do this, just google it, you can partition the drive to say 100 GB and 60 in FAT32 format and it should work, give both a bash and see how you get it on

if you use swissknife, you have the option to format to FAT32 and partition the drive, you need to download and run it and choose the fat32 option
