    I have a laptop (Toshiba, about 18 months old) that I have recently installed Win7 on. I also have Nero and Roxio, fairly recent but not the latest versions. I want to record streaming audio (from an internet radio station) but can find no way to record "whatever the sound card is hearing". I only seem to have options to select a physical input, with streaming audio not covered. Can anyone advise please?

    audacity and vlc will both record streams... I'm not going to bother telling you how to use them.. RTFM yeah? .. internet radio quality is very poor tho.. it might sound ok out of little crappy pc speakers but on anything else the 48k/128k streams sound like garbage.

    PS is correct 48k is very crappy, equivalent to AM radio. That is what most free streams use. It is considered so LoFi it does not require royalties yet. 128 is much better but will sound 'dead' if you listen with HiFi equipment. You will probably not find that for free. You are better off taping FM or better yet HD radio.
    telephone = 35
    AM = 50
    FM = 70
    HD radio = 90

    I do not particularly like Nero but Roxio is pure garbage. It is very marginal in most aspects.
