Hey everyone. I'm still pretty new to the forum been around for awhile but not posted in a long time. Not sure if this is the right spot to post this. Anyway heres the deal. I watch a lot of boxing and want to record the fights that I really love. I ordered a ppv and have it saved to my Directv HD DVR. The program is in HD also. I want to be able to put the program from my DVR to my computer so I can then burn it to a dvd. Is this possible? My DVD burner is not a HD burner. If it is possible, could anyone tell me how to do it? I searched but I couldn't find what I needed.

since DVDs are not high def, there aren't any high def DVD burners, unless you are referring to blu ray (or HD-DVD which is now a dead format.) you will need an analog capture card for your computer. you can get an external USB one or an internal PCI or PCI express card. you'll also need a video editing program such as adobe premiere which will allow you to ingest (capture), edit, and burn the footage to DVD.
