Ok, I was downloading the demo for battlefeild 2, and it was at %52 and it froze up. So I reset it, and now when I go to turn it on where the controllers are, instead of green, it lights up red. It also shut my tv on standbye, after it froze. Thanks in advance
Nasty, you have to let us know what xbox support tells you because I am very curious what they say happened and how to fix it.
well i got four red lights and all i did was make sure my video plug was in tight but i don't know about yours
i had the same problem downloading the same thing, there must be a bug in teh battlefield software...my xbox went back to normal for a while but after a couple hours it alwasy goes right back to the red light.
the red lights are a power cell problem sorry to say when you shut down the 360 incorrectly it fried your 360 and your download didn't freeze it takes 1-hour and sometimes longer to download that demo try taking your hard drive off of the 360 you may have damaged the 360 hard drive
i know wot the problem is. it heats up, thats why after a few hours it goes back to normal. i mean i doubt u download the game in less than 15 minutes. it takes time and the xbox can really heat up during that time. how long did u download for?
it's not the demo's fault, i downloaded it about an hour after reading this the first time, and download worked fine, the demo works fine, games not too shabby, it is an online only demo. but still decent. are you sure it froze up and your connection wasn't surged or something? or you had just a surge of electricty? because the fact your tv went on standby makes it seem like you had a power spike that fried u gear a bit.....
if you get 4 red lights, it means theres a connection problem somewhere. if you get 3 red lights...harware failure. i cant remember where i found it..when i do i will post a link...but theres a video out there of a guy opening his 360 and apon inspection he notices that microsoft forgot to pull off the plastic foil square off the heatsink. thats one theory of why some of the 360's are overheating and having hardware problems.
and wot gurantee does he get that he will ever see his xbox again? and y for free? wot do u get out of it?
just talked to microsoft support and they are sending me a box for repair. I also contacted best buy and decided to replace my xbox wiht them because they are giving me a full refund valchure with no questions asked. All i said was three red lights and they just said they would send me a shipping label and 2 weeks later a valchure. It sounds like they are excpecting many problems wiht the xbox.
Ok, I called Xbox support and they said it cannot be around tv's, cable boxes, or dvd players, it needs to be in a well vented area. When I trun a fan on it and I stood it up, it runs decent. But it never froze ever before, just like 2 weeks ago I was playing madden and it froze up for the first time, then it froze like 4 times after that. But know when I downloaded that demo it did it.... When I downloaded it I put the tv on and forgot about it for like 2 hours. So I guesse it overheated. My house is very dusty tho, so I wonder if the dust has not collected in there over time, because like I said, it never froze ever, and now its starting to. I brought it alil bit away from the wall, I played it like 2 or 3 times now, and no freezing problems. So im guessing its staying cool enought know.... I am just scared what this summer is going to bring tho? I do have centeral air but still it gets hotsomtimes, I mean its only spring and heating problems already?
