Ah yes the joys of 'Softmoding'. It's times like this that I'm so happy to have an X-Bit Modchip. God forbid I ever Formated my XBOX™ HDD, but if I ever did. I could just use something like Slayers to recover. Something that 'Softmoders' can not do because they can not use unsigned Code in the DVD-ROM Drive. ;)

Now just might be a good time to think about droping the 'Cash' for a Chip! Heck if you have some mad skilz you can get off as cheap as $10.00(USD), if not Solderless Chips start at about $40.00(USD).

Then you'll never have to face such a problem ever agian!

Exactly why I dont do softmods for people...

Definition of Hot Swap: Swapping hardware live to reload software.

Unfourtunately the hot swap will not work. If you have a backup of your eeprom on your computer then you can download xboxhdm and fix your hard drive. If not, then a chip is needed to boot a cd to ftp the files back in. Hope this leads you in the right direction.

I do not know if this is still even an option for you, but since you should still be able to boot origianl (i.e. Signed Code), you might try tossing in a Live!™ enabled Game Disc into your XBOX™ DVD-ROM Drive and pray that it will update your Dashboard (or whats left of it),.

Again not knowing if this is still an option for you but, if you are already a member (or know someone whos' willing to risk His or Her XBOX Live!™ Account on you. You might be able to update your XBOX that way as well. In fact I was able to update my own XBOX™ like that on a few occasions myself.

There are however no guarantees that by commiting such an action. While having a Modchip (or Softmod) in place that you'll be permanetly banned from the XBOX Live!™ service.

    @ Ca$h

The only way I know for jeffhoyo (or the OP), to get any possible FTP accesss is if he didn't fuxx0r up his E:\ Partition (i.e. His Save Hacks),. All he should have to do is to reinsert His preference of Game beit 007AUF, MechAssult or Splinter Cell. Restart the Save and then mabye just maybe He'll land back inside of EvoX. Where with the proper Networking Configuration(s) it should be possible to get back into the XBOX™ via a FTP Connection.

If the OP managed not only to format his C: Partition but the E: one aswell then, His (or Her), 'Softmodding' Days are over. The only options open to 'em are to locate the Legendary 'Microsoft™ XBOX™ Restore DVD' (You can somtimes find it on eBay!), or to break down and shell out some Money for a new Modchip and then possibly for a larger HDD. Which I can tell you right now is only a very small investment that will pay off BIG TIME! As you move forward.

Thanks For all the help, I just ordered the X-Bit v1.5 Mod chip yesterday, so when it arrives, i will try to load AID or something else, after I install it.

P.S. Can you tell me more about restoring, using my friends XBL Account?
