Can I play a region 2 dvd on my pc's dvd rom? I thought I could, but when I play it, I get a windows media player (version 10) error message to lower my screen resolution and color quality. Even when I lower them to the lowest setting I still get the same message. Is there a special decoder I need? I thought I could just pop it in and it would play.
If your DVD Drive is Regeon 1 and the DVD is Region 2 then you will have to Change the Region Code on your Drive to be able to Play the Disk (You can Only change the Region code on a Drive 5 Times before the region gets Locked).... Or you can Install "DVD Region Free" which should make it so you can read this Disk without Changeing the Region Code.... You could also try useing something like "DVD decryptor" to rip the DVD to your HD which should Remove the Region Code to allow Playback from your Hard Drive... Cheers
