My father-in-law sent me an copied version of a dvd from Germany and i cant get it to play on my dvd player, but it plays on my computer, i've tried using anydvd and dvd region free but neither has helped. I've also used dvd shrink and nero but once again, no luck. Is there anything i can do to make a copy of this movie that'll work on my dvd player?
Have you tried marching it around, the room, and shouting at it. all joking aside this tool should give you more information on the disc http://www.dvdinfopro.com/ good luck gringle
David1838, Dvd Region Free will work for the region only and it will change the region code into a "region free = 0." However, your stand alone dvd player and tv, both have to support "PAL" dvd format in order for you to play the orignial or your backed up dvd. If you have a PAL/NTSC compatible dvd player then you shouldn't have to worry. I believe most of Asia and Europe dvds are in PAL format only. Again, like "RussReef" said; you need to convert PAL to NTSC for it to play in your stand alone player.
I need to know what steps i have to take to covert PAL to NTSC and what software i have to use to do so. By the way i've already tried Anydvd, DVDShrink, Nero, DVD region Free, but maybe i didnt use one of these correctly, so what next?
what steps do i need to take by using Nero to get this done? do i need to create an iso file or what?
Nero Vision Express ( part of Nero Ultra 6) will almost guide you through the process. I think it can do it right off the dvd. It won't be a fast process so expect a few hrs time to convert depending on the file size. Jerry
I tried using NeroVision Express and burned it to DVD successfully but the menus were inactive and there was no sound during the movie. Is there any other program i can use to convert from PAL to NTSC without losing menus and sound?
