Hi, I have a movie in .AVI format that I loaded into nero suite 2 and burned to a DVD. Now my dvd player can read it but tells me that i can not play because of region. Does the .AVI file carry the region code? How do i fix this problem? Thanks,
If you've converted the .avi files to a DVD format, you can remove or change the region coding by processing the files thru this little application called FreeDVD. Note: The video files need to be on your HDD and located in a VIDEO_TS folder, once the coding has been removed, just reburn to DVD and you should be able to play it. Get it here: http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm
so just use nero to do the transcoding from avi to dvd format and have it save to HD instead of burning to DVD. Then go to the folder where nero saved it and i should find the video_ts correct? and after i do that and use freedvd on it then i should be able to burn with nero without having to wait for the transcoding process again correct? Thanks for the help
You can do it in one of two ways. If you already have the files on a DVD, there should be a VIDEO_TS folder on the disk that you can copy to the HDD, then use FreeDVD to remove region coding from the files. Once done, use nero to burn the files to a new disk. Or You can start over with the conversion using nero, but I dont believe nero creates a VIDEO_TS folder (not sure) so you'll have to create one and tell nero to store the converted files in that folder. Then use FreeDVD to remove region coding from the files, once done, use nero again to burn the files to a new disk.
