if you have a dvd burner you can burn the movie and make it region-free with dvd shrink. then you can play it in any player, regardless of region.

thanks for the advice. I tried what you suggested and my dvd player indicates "Playback Prohibited By Area Limitations" does this mean wrong region files?

I believe in DVD Shrink there is a setting you can change to make it region free. I bellieve it is "brute force"? You can also try AnyDVD too. I'm new to this as well but from what i've been reading it runs in the background and converts it to regoin free as well. I know someone here could direct you to a site to download that program. HTH!
    Cheers!

DVDShrink has the region free setting on default. Many claim that it will re-code the region, but that is false, as the image remains encoded with the previous region. what you can do however, is use NeroVision Express to re-encode your movie, as this program will automatically convert your image to NTSC upon prompt.
