I realy noticed on AfterDawn that many new members sign up to AfterDawn JUST to ask for a torrent invite, I mean come on, it clearly states in the rules no torrent invite trading or anything related to torrent invite trading BUT most new members dont care because they sign up thinking "Man who cares if invites arent allowed I am just going to try my luck, I dont care if I get banned" and everytime I enter the windows p2p section I see a whole series of threads, sometimes, that are closed because of asking for invites or will be closed soon when a mod comes across it. I think more serious action should be taken to prevent people from asking for invites, I havent got any suggestions, but maybe a banner on the message typing area saying "No invite trading" something like that going across the top of the place where i am typing this message, but it should only be there for like new members, and only in the win p2p section or something. Just to remind people that it is not allowed, I am sorry if I am not very clear, I have a tendency, sometimes, to not be clear in what I am trying to say. As for the rules, I guess, many new members sign up, with the intention to stay at AD, and dont want to break the rules, but dont know the rules because they never bothered to read them, so I think AD should have a script running where if one has not read the rules there will be a message somewhere noticable saying "You have not read the rules, please do so to avoid miss using the forums, you have thirty days to read the rules before you get a warning, click here to read them" something like that, you know what I mean, like force, no not force, advice, no not advice, forcingly advice them to read the rules. *********** NOTE *********** Some of the things I have said in this thread can be questionable, like, "How do you know members just sign upto ask for invites, you dont know for sure" that I do not know, I am infering that a minority of new members sign up, with the intention to ask for an invite, the reasoning for my guess, is that most, or 90% of the threads asking for invites are posted by members ranked: Newbies. ************************ Disclaimer ************************ I am not making this thread to pick on "Newbies" neither am I making this thread for any other reason than to try and help AfterDawn become better, i am sorry to anyone and everyone that has issues with this post of mine. Yeah alot of Newbies don't realize how strict it is. A banner on the p2p saying, if you ask for invites you will be suspened could work.
Asking people to read the rules at ANY web site is like asking people to read the disclaimer or EULA when you install a program...its just not going to happen! I don't think a ban is necasarry or a suspension but a friendly reminder. Why is it that everyone wants to see a ban or suspension? Is it a thrill of some sort? I understand your concern about asking for invites to torrent sites and such but does it really bother you that much BluRay to write this huge request?

The rules are there for a reason and as was said no one reads the rules. I remember scrolling down and hittin agree. I larnt about the rules later through other members and what got them into trouble or other members posting paticualar rukes as reminders for members breaching the rules. As we say teach and learn
