    Hi,

So I recently softmodded my xbox console to run UnleashX and XBMC using the Splinter Cell exploit. I wanted to add high definition support for my HDTV, so I ran Enigmah and temporarily restored the original xbox dash to enable the new video settings. When I went back to reapply my softmod, I received errors that files could not be uncompressed to the drive and the xbox gave error 13 on startup. Fortunately I'd made a backup of my MS Dash and was able to revert to it by loading the splinter cell save, but the xbox is still NTSC and I still have no way to reinstall the softmod or even to run Enigmah again.

Splinter cell looks good in high def, but am I screwed now in getting the softmod back? Linux still runs from the exploit but cannot install anything. Am I having problems because the xbox thinks it is NTSC now? Should I be using the NTSC linux loading save from the softmod package?

I wanted to install a chip eventually anyway, and I think installing a chip will solve all my problems because I'll be able to run third party software without using Splinter Cell. I'm just curious if installing a mod chip the only way to restore the mod now.

    Thanks.

if you have backed up your eeprom, you can use the c-cheater file from c4rn1 in combination with the hdm program/tutorial. you can also just try, as you mentioned, the ntsc splintercell gamesave. but i think that gamesave is for the ntsc splinter cell game (i f.i. have a pal game and have to use the pal version). but you can always try off course, maybe it works.

you can also use the hot swap tutorial to rebuild your hard drive with the c-cheater files. any off the ways (hot swap / hdm while having the eeprom key) will bring your softmod back.
