It seems that DVD Decrypter v3.5.4.0 is not available anymore. In that case, why all of you praise this software? If it is not available it also probably not update with all the new dvd decryptions... By the way who is better DVD Decrypter v3.5.4.0 or Fab?
You have to have been around for a while to understand DVD Decrypter. It's still a great ripper, even if the decryption software is lacking. Use it with AnyDVD and you have a better ripper/decryption setup than what's included in the AnyDVD program. Then there's the process of using DVD Decrypter with protected sector lists. It;s manual, but it's done the job when other software failed. Naturally the supported software eventually gets updated. Recently DVD Decrypter was part of a decryption/compliance processing system called RipIt4Me. Unfortunately Big Brother shut them down. That one still processes most DVDs without being updated. So, you see DVD Decrypter has an interesting history. I recently drug it out and used it with AnyDVD and FixVTS when the other programs were getting hung with newly released copy protection. You also have to realize that DVD Decrypter was a dual function program. Besides decryption it was a burner program. That is still alive and well under the name ImgBurn, by the same author. As for a direct comparison of DVDFab HD Decrypter and DVD Decrypter, for up to date decryption DVDFab wins out because it is updated for newer copy protections and thus easier to use. But DVDFab isn't a burner. LOL By the way, if you look around, you can still find a copy of DVD Decrypter 3.5.
