Remember Passwords in Windows XP Home

Windows 95 would ask you if you wanted it to remember your password so you would not have to re-enter it the next time you visited.

Windows XP Home will ask you if you want it to remember it and you click on yes BUT it does not remember your password.

How can this be fixed so it will rmember your password when you answer yes to the question "Do you want windows to remember your password so you donot have to re-enter it the next time your visit?
