Does anyone know which dvd recorder brands have remote units that will allow operation of jvc tvs? Or at least have a wide range? I am keen on an LG recorder but believe they only work with a limited number of tvs (including Sony), but not jvc. Thanks.
If you want a fantastic remote that will handle everything but the kitchen sink, checkout the HARMONY product line from LOGITECH. They are expensive but do everything (can even show you TV Program Listings on its tiny LCD screen). I used to have Remotes for: - TV - 2 VCR's - camcorder - PVR - Satellite receiver - Home Theatre (DVD player and Speaker system) Now they all sit in a drawer. The Harmony controls all the devices by itself. Most activities are one-click operations. For example, press the "WATCH TV" button and the Harmony (in my case) will turn on the TV, Satellite rvcr and Home Theatre system. Then it sets the Satellite RCVR for HD, the TV video input from the Satellite RCVR, the Home Theatre audio input from the Satellite Rvcr. And that's a simple example. Oh yeh, if something does go wrong, the Remote will take you through a step by step check to determine what is wrong. Finally, have you got a VCR but you lost the REmote? No problem, you go to the Harmony website and download the commands to the Harmony Remote. No, I don't work for Logitech. I'm just one extremely happy user.
