Hello, Trying to completely remove the Action Center white flag icon from the notification area on a W7 box. Thanks but I don't need an icon sitting there constantly letting me know that there are "No current issues detected". Thing is that the desired setting for the notification area is to "always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar", this is so the annoying arrow isn't there that hides icons. Since this setting is in place, changing the setting for the action center icon to hide, has no effect. I have successfully done this in the past, I've removed the action center icon whilst having the box checked to "always show all icons..." but I can't remember how it was done and not finding anything relevant at the moment. I think I might have messed about with some services but can't figure out what now. Also would be a bonus to know how to be able to disable the security center service without Alert Center saying anything about it. Thanks.
yes right click the A.C. icon and open it. look on the left and 'change the settings' to your liking. i odnt know how to completely disable the icon though
You just ignored most of what I said and then told me that you don't know how to do what I've asked for, thanks.
Action nag service can be removed completely and safely. -----=====THE SOLUTION=====----- Get "Take Ownership" from here http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/wind...ership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/ right click and take ownership of c:\windows\system32\ActionCenter.DLL and c:\windows\system32\ActionCenterCPL.DLL rename those files .bak and reboot.
