    Hello,
I want to clean up my registry (XP Pro SP2) and get rid of several programs no longer in use (AOL, DVD XCOPY, ect.).
Can I just run regedit, open Hkey local, software, then delete away?
Thanks for your time and help.

I use the freeware program RegSeeker quite often to clean the crap out of my registry. You can find it easily on google just make sure it is the one by Hover, inc. The rest of them look like spyware to me but I could be wrong.

I've used RegSeeker for over a year now with no ill results. Before that anytime I messed with my registry was trouble.

Here is a good site for freeware, JV16 is great as is RegSeeker. I use them both, what one doesn't get, the other will:http://321download.com/LastFreeware/index.html
