Specifically, the series is the X Files. The chapters I want to remove are the opening theme and the closing credits (I don't need the see the same thing over and over for each episode)

I want to remove these chapters in each episode, but keep the output file in a one title format. I see that if I copy the title, edit which chapter(s) I want, then repeat the process for additional chapters I want, not choosing the chapters I don't, the end result are multiple titles instead of a single title.

Can this be done with the end result of a single title like the original, less the chapters I don't want??

Shrink can't merge titles so you would have to use DVDFab's append mode. However, since you only want to trim beginning and end of an episode you should end up with 1 title per episode.

I did this with the season 3 disks of X Files.

I used DVD Shrink in Re-author mode to select the teaser and main video from a Title.
This created two new Titles for each episode.
There were four episodes on a disk, thus eight titles.

I saved and renamed the VOB files and used VOBEdit, IfoEdit (optionally FixVts) to create one title.
This is the notes I made for the steps - they were made during the process, so might not be clear enough.

Thanks for that, but that's way too complicated that it should be.

I need one program that has a simple chapter list with the ability to check or uncheck each chapter. Period.

Try DVD Decrypter in IFO mode - I know you can select the Chapters to rip - but I don't know if the chapters will line up with the start/end credits that you want removed.
