Hi all. Long time no talk. Hope I am not in the wrong room with this question and if so I appoligize. I am from Canada so I generally buy region 1 dvds. I am interested in buying the earlier years of the ufc events that are only available on region 2. I will buy them if I know I can even back them up on dvd -R to play on my standalone. Will I just get a popup using dvd decrypter asking me to select the region for this dvd in order to rip it? I was told that you are only allowed 5 region code changes on dvd burners. Is this true. If someone can set me straight on this issue it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks..........Cheers :)

with dvd shrink, when you back them up in full disc or re author mode there is a prompt to change the region to what ever you want to set it as

that is true to a degree but one way to get around it is to have something like slysofts Anydvd running in the background!!!

If you want something free that will also remove the region protection of a DVD check out DVD43. This is not as good as AnyDVD which does other stuff as well but it has the advantage of being quite cheap.
