how do you repair the file extension on a divx file the file plays fine on my PC after you select which program but when i burn it to a disk my standalone dvd player doesn't see the file on the disk because it doesn't recognize it because the file extension is corrupt please help its the last episode of blade the series don't fancy having to watch it on the PC screen. when i downloaded it like a fool i renamed it now its messed about with the extension.
Done that makes no difference i can call it anything i want i.e. Blade S01E12.avi but when you look at the file in explore says file type avidad file, should say video clip like the rest does the file extension is mixed up how do you rename the file extension ?
You need to disable the hiding of the file extension either for all or just avidad. Otherwise you get "movie.avi.avidad". Could also rename using a command prompt or another tool.
