Okay I am really pedantic to when I organise my music, I put it into categories on my pc and label the tracks properly. However, when I put it onto my ipod, the whole name reverts to a different one to that on my comp. Is there anyway to prevent this and keep the same name as it is on my computer, or do i have to manually change each track on itunes?

I had to. If you go into your iPod in my computer and show hidden files you can manually import music into your iTunes, but make sure your iTunes imports when music is dragged in.

Here are the steps: Plug in your iPod that has ALL! of your music on it.

    Go to My Computer

    Go to your iPod.

Go-Tools-Folder Options-Hit the tab called view, and scroll down until you see Hidden Files and folders. Check the button that says show hidden files and folders.

Then go into iPod_Control, Music, and there will be a few folders. They contain your music seperated into different folders.

    Open iTunes

    Go to Edit-Preferences

Go to advanced, and check the box that says Copy Files to iTunes music when adding to library.

Then delete your old library, and copy all the files from your iPod to your iTunes. It should import, but hey if it screws up and you lose all your music, don't blame me.

    I don't understand from here :

Go to advanced, and check the box that says Copy Files to iTunes music when adding to library.

Then delete your old library, and copy all the files from your iPod to your iTunes. It should import, but hey if it screws up and you lose all your music, don't blame me.

how will this make my music more organised with the names being correct?

Because it will take the names of the mp3s from you iPod and put them in your iTunes, therefore removing the bother of renaming the tracks... or are all your tracks already the same... in that case, yes you do.
