What method are you actually using to backup the game? I would suggest DVD Decrypter, Nero or Alcohol 120% to make an ISO file.

i've tried nero and alcohol. i didn't think decryptor would work so i didn't attempt it. i'll try that next. thanks.
p.s. DVD Decrypter wouldn't allow me to create the .ISO file because it wasn't a dvd.

Oh yes, that's right. To actually MAKE an ISO I suggest MagicISO or PowerISO. Te BURN with Decrypter.

thanks for the tips. they worked fine. i was wondering, will this process work for battlefield 2 as well. same reason. i've already had to replace the game do to major scratches. kids are too rough around my computer.

Yep it'll work, but if you are copying from the actual CD/ DVD then use Alcohol or Nero to directly back it up as an image file.
