Have been reading about the Reon chip on the Tosh XA2. I know it's a previous model but it's getting rave reviews. The newer A35 model is out now but does it compare to the XA2? What chip does it have? What would you get in this case? Thanx. cheezzzz
eatsushi did a Reon (XA2) vs ABT (A30 and other 3rd gen) comparison here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/554221 They compared upconverting performance and found both to be very good - with a slight preference towards the Reon. I have the XA2 and I think it's the best disc player I've owned so far. Until the XA3 comes out I think it will still be considered as Toshiba's flagship HD player. The 3rd gen Toshibas use VRS processing in the ABT chip. Here's links from Ced: http://www.anchorbaytech.com/vrs_technology/index.php http://www.9web.co.uk/abt/products/ABT1018chip.html
