repaired fautly xbox E74 won't play any games.

i recently bought an faulty xbox 360 with e74 error planning to repair it and flash the drive.

i cleared up the error by x clamp fix however when i try to play games it does not recognise the disc as a game but as a dvd. (to play this game put in xbox console)

I bought a replacement drive and connected it up without flashing just to see what error you would get. however it was the same, it would play dvds backup or original but not any games.

This leaves me guessing that the original drive had been flashed incorrectly.

Does anybody know what the problems is and how i can go about fixing it. many thanks ingeno.
