Is it possible to modify the stock gamecube case with whatever tools(hacksaw, sledgehammer), so you could fit and play your games on dvd-r? or does one have to buy a replacement case?
yes there is, just take the top part of the case off it should work fine, but make sure you have a modchip b/c GC can't read full dvd-r without it. that being said i think Qoob pro has full dvd-r ability, and mayb viper GC not sure. might wanna ask around.
Yeah, gotta make sure you have a chip, my qoob is on the way , i would like to keep the case on the gamecube to protect the insides from dust, i was just wondering if you could modify the top part of the case like making a bigger hole so the laser will have more room to read a full size dvd-r. or is this impossible?
as far as i know, the GC drive can read a full sized dvd if the case is modified to allow one to sit in the drive. so, i don't think you'll have too much to worry about
I would personally order the case, as it is appealing, has lights, and is only 30 bucks USD which I found reasonable, ( i work as a mop up boy in a hotel making 9 bucks and hour 2 days a week) so saying its a reasonable price from my point of view should clear it up for you. PS is you choose the option of leaving your GC open but are afriad of dust getting in and wrecking it, just wrap it in plastic wrap around the cd tray. It worked for a friend of mines.
that is a good price for something so important to a gaming system. you might want to invest in that, jimmer.
