Replacing a lcd screen on my notebook

    I have a new HP Pavilion 9700t series with a 17.0" diagonal WXGA+ High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen. Traveling from Afghanistan to the states for R&R, the screen got cracked. I've replaced laptop screens before. I was searching on eBay for a replacement screen and couldn't find any that matched my exact series. I ran a search for 17.0" WXGA+ HP and it turned up a few results for different series, the closest being the 9600. I was wondering that as long as it was a 17" screen, if it would still work in my laptop.

    If it's from the same manufacturer, a similar age, the same size and resolution then it should work.
