I am trying to replace the audio on a dvd movie with audio from a cd. Can anybody help me on how to do this?
You will need to re author the DVD. First step will be to Rip the existing DVD including the Audio. DVD Decrypter will do this. You need to use stream processing to get the separate videoo & Audio streams. Next, you are going to have to resample the CD-Audio to 48KHz, as the 44.1 KHz audio on a CD cannot be used in DVD. You will need to turn this into a Dolby Digital file for maximum video quality, or else leave it as a WAV file if Audio quality is paramount. Reauthoring is going to be the hardest part, as you will need to get the new Audio lined up with the old audio. I would recommend getting the 30 day tryout version of Adobe EncoreDVD for this from their website, as then you will be able to import your M2V video file you got from DVD Decrypter with the AC3 file you got from DVDDecrypter. Create a new timeine with the existing movie & audio, and then import your new Audio file. Get the new audio lined up with the movie, use the preview function to check this, and when it is done you can either burn directly out of Encore, or else create a disc image to burn later. An easy enough job if you have the correct tools to do it. You cannot do this with freeware. Sorry.
