Mhhmmm, I've been back best part of 5 minutes and I actually have a constructive comment to make :O So, on to my suggestion: When posting a reply to a thread, as you can't multi-quote the entire page of people who replied to you, it's useful to be able to refer back to it. The current layout is so that you have to scroll to the bottom of the page to see the latest replies - the ones you're most recently replying to. This seems a bit silly in my opinion; surely it'd be much easier to order them by latest post date first? Can't be that hard to implement either?
You mean the message_reply.cfm page? I think it has been in the past using the reverse order, but some people complained about it being confusing when the standard thread view is in different order and the reply page in different order. Technically, it takes about 15 seconds to change it, but it is about the usability and what people prefer. One option, in future, might be to allow switching the order in the reply page as you prefer.
Yeah, that's the page. And fair enough, my personal opinion is that it makes more sense the reverse to how it is now, but I'm not an active enough poster anymore to kick up that much of a fuss about it Thanks,
i would have to agree with you on this one ripper. it would be nice to have the latest post at the top when applying. but also like the idea that drd made about having it be a user choice/preference on which he/she wanted to see. that way in case one does not like it then they could revert back to the 'normal' way.
How about a quick reply box at the bottom of the page? That way the latest post is right there above you. Doesn't really matter to me, but that might go along with what Ripper was asking for.
This is actually on our "to-do" list for the next major version of the forums/site, due to launch sometime in 2009, hopefully by end of summer (an update that is slightly overdue, since the current version was launched back in 2003..).
