Required files 'VIDEO_TS.IFO' & file 'VIDEO_TS.BUP' not present?

Nero kept on telling me 'VIDEO_TS.IFO' & 'VIDEO_TS.BUP' files are not present when I tried to burn two movies. I've checked and both movies have these files?!!

Shrink 3.2 had no issue analyzing the movie nor Backup. The other weird thing is usually when I put in a blank dvd, Shrink would kick off Nero automatically(just checked this is enable in Shrink's Preferences), now it would not. So I had to open Nero Express, select ALL the files to burn. Then I get this error message.

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

    Here is the error log:

    Hi my2222
    Here's some suggestions:
Update Nero to this version (6.6.0.18) - this last version of 6 to autoburn with Shrink:
    nero version 6.6.0.18 updates:
    Package 1
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe

    Package 2 (Recode & Vision)
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

In express you can try this option. DVD-Video Files then add the video_ts folder from Shrink.

Try the update of Nero - you burner should be listed under 'select back up target' in Shrink.
BTW what movie are you doing?

Thanks for your assistance! I am always so leary to update anything. For two years ago after I installed XP SP I ran into issue using Shrink 3.2. After I uninstalled the SP things went back to normal.

Strange how I have not had this issue till this week and I have burnt at least 80 dvds. Well, I should not say no issue till now. Since a year ago I had to reboot my computer in order to burn another dvd, or else I would get the bad media error message.

The two movies are Into the Blue (amazingly good when the reviews said it was bad, loved the under water scenes), and Just Like Heaven.

I can't remember if these had anything special on them or not.
Are you using reauthor mode in Shrink and just doing movie only?

I don't know what problems you had with Shrink and XP (I have none running XPsp2) but here's a link that may help:

Are you doing a system defrag and disc cleanup and a regular basis? No multitasking while encoding & burning?

Yeah, playing games, sending emails, and searching during the process. I did not have problem before, so did not think it would be an issue?!!

Defrag several months ago, it did not seem to free up much space. So I got discouraged about these maintenances.

Shrink had no issue with Into The Blue, the other movie I did use DVD Decrypter to create an ISO file, then use Shrink 3.2 to Analyze and Backup. I can play both movies with Shrink 3.2?!! Have not used Re-Author.

Oh my - maintenance is very important to keeping the pc run smoothly and cut down on the chance of error. You may have several things going on.
And the multitasking too. Open up task manager and look under performance while you're doing all this. You'd be suprised.

The defrag will 'defrag' the files on your pc - may not clear up more space but makes the pc run more efficently.
Run a disc cleanup to clear up space.
You should probably run a registry cleaner too. Try this one (free)
    http://www.ccleaner.com/
Clean off any files you no longer need.
Then try again. Make sure your drive is selected under 'select backup target' when using shrink.
The update of nero may help too - but I would do the maintenance bit first.

    No problem my2222
Hopefully a few of these maintenance will help.
Let's see how it goes and will go from here.

I've found it it is a major user error. I did not open the Video_TS folder and then add all the iso files. I just added the iso files with Video_TS folder there.

Thanks for the tip on CCLean!!

I LOVE this forum, everyone is so helpful and knowledgeable!!

    No problem my2222
When you are using express you can use the dvd-video option & just add the whole video_ts - saves from having to highlight all of them & adding.
