Hi, I'm new at this forum and ps2 modding, but yesterday I installed freeMCBoot on my ps2 slim model:SCHP-77004 and everything was fine till I tryed to launch a original ps2 game disk and my ps2 just shown "disk error" or "unable de read disk" I forgot what was the correct disk but, it's just won't let my ps2 games launch, once I remove my FreeMCBoot memorycard, my ps2 games just launch fine , so I wanna know , is it normal that this happen ? does we need to remove FreeMCBoot every time I wanna launch my original ps2 disk ? (ps sorry if I make mistakes it's because I'm french)
Yes it's normal because you need mem card slot 1 with an unmodded mem card to boot games. Place mcfb into slot 2 & you should be good to go. I'm pretty sure this is what your issue is however i can't recall if it was info from https://retrozone.co/forums/articles/ or modded warfare on youtube that i got the info. I assume you can boot free mcboot ok. retrozone was born out of the ashes of theisozone after that toerag screwed everyone over by closing it down without warning & we lost a great deal of items & helpful posts
This behaviour puzzled me for a while too.. Then I just quit wearing out the lazer and stuck to the hdd instead
