    They wouldn't sell you one? I'd call again and complain! Sometimes it takes a little bitching to get something from companies. :)

    About the torrent, I don't think you would find a recovery disc torrent file, but you can search. Search Google for "recovery disc torrent".

    @aasimmon:

    If you can find someone who has the same restore disc as you had, you can use theirs and or a copy of theirs. You could also use a windows xp install disk but make sure if you have home you use a home install disc and vice versa. And like Niobis said just call up and complain. If your not getting anywere with the current person your talking too request to speak to a supervisor. good luck.

    PeaInAPod, some recovery discs, such as HP and Dell, cannot be copied. When they are copied they do not work.

    I have not tried copying them with a burning suite like Nero or Roxio but I have copied my emachines disc, I burnt a copy of a dell disc restore disc for a friend. These discs are copiable but when I would do it I would use a program like UltraISO to extract them and then burn them. I dont know if the program makes a difference but I have successfully copied a Compaq Restore Disc, Dell Restore Disc, eMachines Restore Disc, and Windows XP Home install disc.
