If Windows opens correctly, check if HP Recovery Manager is installed. Search Windows for 'recovery manager', then select HP Recovery Manager from the search results.

When looking more closely at the inside of the machine, I found two (2) files in the folder C:\Recovery: boot.sdi (date 11.06.2009, size: 3096 kb) and Winre.wim (date 20.11.2010, size: 166518 kB). Now i am interested in knowing how i can pre-install the operating system again?

Machine: HP Compaq 6000 Pro Base Model Microtower PC
Operating System: Windows 7 Professional (64-bit)

That usually is done by hitting a function key before windows starts. You only have about a second to act. If it passes too quickly Google it. HP uses the same function key for all computers.

It can be f10 or f12
may help to use start menu search & look for system or recovery or both together. You owner manual will have instruction how how to access recovery when booting.
Manuals can be got from free owners manuals online or some other such wording, that users upload for others
