My friend and I both went and bought retail copies of GoW3, and have been trying to get them working on our modded 360 consoles. Google told me we would need to manually apply a system update, but I tried downloading that from Xbox.com and can't get it to load (I assume because I'm already up-to-date. The game simply displayed an E66 error. I flashed the console back to stock, and it makes it seem like the game will boot, but the disk image never shows up and when I hit play game, I am disconnected from live, the system hangs, then am booted back to the dash. Is there something I can do to get this working?
Update: Did the exact same things with his Xbox, and it boots the game just fine. He is playing now. Same things on my Xbox and the game won't boot and brings me back to the dash.
You may have a spoofed drive so that's why its doing this.Replace the drive with the origional brand DVD Drive that the xbox 360 came with viz. If xbox 360 had LiteOn origionally then spoof it with another LiteOn and not a BenQ , SamSung or Hitachi.
if your xbox is trying to update, then it's not updated. you have to use a disc or a flash drive to update it. be careful though, if you don't know what you're doing and you don't have your stock obw firmware for your drive you might make everything very difficult
has anyone run into any issues using a Samsung drive, flashed with kreon firmware when backing up an original copy? it starts off fine then starts filling it with blank and gets to 49% and says "cant extract ss" when using version 4.1 of Schtrom 360xtract. any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. btw, sorry if this conflicts with site rules, this is my first post.
