Ok those bastards at Newegg keep changing my radeon X800GTs price every 20 minutes. The retail is currently $200 (prolly gonna be $220 in 20 minutes) and the OEM one is $180. Couple days ago they were both $174. I read somewhere that OEM versions can have lees performance and be crappy. Is that true??? Is it safe to go with the OEM???? the retail model has the letter "L" at the end of the model number while the OEM does not....does that mean theyre different versions and the OEM one is worse? Thanks!!

Theres no difference in the cards performance, all it means is Retail comes in a nice fancy box with a few games & odds n sods chucked in & OEM is a plain brown box with a driver disc & cables :)

Well if your in any doubt then get the retail version, i have a retail Xpert vision 6600GT & a friend has a OEM Leadtel 6600GT there is no difference in the cards performance, the only difference was £20 a shinny box a HDTV cable + 1 free game ...

Yeah the specs look the same on both cards....but the model number is what is bothering me.

    Retail model number=100136L
    OEM model number =100136

Hopefully the cards are the same...I dont care about the box or warranty...I just need the card

OEM means that its just cheaper like has a less fancy box (if it has one at all) and probably doesnt come bundled with anything at all where as retail has a fancy box and usualy a whole load of free software or games but basically the card will be the same
