Ok, first off, my uncle owned a Ipod. He gave/sold(Im not sure which) it to my grandparents. I have been told that hooking it up to their computer(which is a windows and not the mac my uncle has) would delete all the files from it. Is there a way to get around this? Thanks in advance.
Um... one more question... heres the specs of the ipod; Model#(s?) on silver backing, A1136- theres also another different one in the menu but apperantly I didnt record it-*rolls eyes*. EMC#(whats that?) 2065 version 1.1.2 Now the question is, my uncle says that it will clear the drive if you connect it to the computer, is that update thing for all or is this^ one in particular one that would regardless of the update? Im just checking so I dont loose all my grandparent's pics and music. Thanks.
If it was formatted to a Mac orginally, as you said, and you are trying to put the files on a Windows PC it isn't going to work. When the iPod is connected to a Mac the hardrive is formatted to a different format then that of Windows, I don't remember what it is called, but Windows uses FAT 32 which is compatibile with both Windows and Mac, but Mac uses a Mac exclusive format.
