WOW! Found this website, thought, GREAT, I can finally get help with an old phone I still want to use, and was treated, well... not like a welcomed new user, so I'll see if the introduction to AfterDawn holds true or not. Simply: RE: unlocking a restricted Nokia 3120b I tried to unlock it with a wrong code and now it's "restricted." I've heard once it's become restricted that I actually have to connect it to a PC in order to unlock it. Is that true? If not - would like to unlock it. Nokia 3120b Type: RH-50 IMEI: 356245/00/323862/4
Hey NoLimit04 - Thanks very much for trying. Unfortunately, the code didn't work. I checked & confirmed that I provided the correct IMEI. I had mentioned that I thought it might have something to do with being "restricted." Is that it? It's not only a locked phone to AT&T/Cingular, but it's also now restricted after I had tried the incorrect code too many times. I've heard after becoming restricted - a person would have to take it into a shop to have them physically hook it up to a PC, but I don't know if that's true? Is there another code that first needs to be applied to "un-restrict" it and... then... a code to unlock? Or... Should one unlock code take care of both? Thanks very much in advance for any further help you can provide. Thanks Placebo
Hey NoLimit04 - Never mind regarding the restricted Nokia. I went to one of your links, and it was one of the very first hi-lighted posts at your website. I hosed myself - it's a restricted phone because I entered a couple of incorrect codes long time ago. Fortunately, it's just a spare phone. I had a previous Nokia 3120, but heard that one was easier to unlock than the 3120b Type: RH-50. I don't know if I like the phone enough to get it unlocked at a local shop. I only paid $10 bucks for it, but another $15 - $20 at a shop I know of... I don't know if it's worth it. This older model doesn't even have a camera. Simply put - I was hoping there was an unlock code for a "restricted' phone. Thanks anyway.
Yes, if you had mentioned that your last message(s) were "CAN NOT UNDO RESTRICTION", thenI would directed you in the right direction. Sorry you didn't catch me sooner.
